MEET TERI  • Philanthropist

I have always believed in the importance of community involvement, advocacy and activism to provide opportunities to others. As Republicans, we believe in providing opportunities for those who are willing to do the hard work in succeeding and overcoming obstacles, mostly through dedicating ourselves personally to those causes rather than through government-sponsored methods.

Many of the causes I have supported are focused on education of young people through scholarships, business and employment opportunities. In some cases I have served as Executive Director or Board Member, in other cases I have contributed financially to their cause. These causes include:

-      Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (DC Area Board Member 2004-2011)

-      Miss DC Scholarship Organization (Executive Director 2006-present)

-      Bell Multicultural High School – Amigos Program

-      Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington

-      Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School

-      Asian Pacific America Institute for Congressional Studies

-      Nashoba Learning Group

-      Two Rivers Charter School

My husband, Michael Cleary, and I have also supported additional organizations through fundraisers and events:

-      Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber Gala

-      Kristi House

-      Latin Economic Development Corporation

-      New York Needs You

-      Nueva Vida

-      Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine

-      Pink Jams

-      Tigerlily Foundation

-      Voices for Americas Children

-      Washington Nationals Foundation

     -      Washington Performing Arts Society
